Edina offensive tackle Quinn Carroll announced he will be attending the University of Notre Dame to play his college football.

Carroll is 6-6, 295-pounds and the top-ranked football recruit in Minnesota for the Class of 2019. He had a total of 34 Division 1 offers and chose Notre Dame over five other finalists, including Minnesota.

"Notre Dame is the perfect school for me," Carroll said. "I couldn't be more excited."

Carroll touted Notre Dame's athletics, campus, and the faith-based education as the main reasons for choosing the Fighting Irish.

"I'm never one to disappoint, so it was hard to let some of those coaches down," Carroll said explaining the phone calls to the other coaches whom he did not choose. "But, when it comes down to it, the easiest way to put it for those coaches was I was called [to Notre Dame] and that's untouchable."

Notre Dame now has nine commitments for the 2019 class.
