Eastview is back in the Girls' State Basketball Tournament and the Lightning are ready to defend their Class 4A championship.

Eastview's perfect 32-0 season was culminated with a 68-63 win over Hopkins in the championship game at Target Center. The Lightning haven't been as dominant this year, but at 24-5 they earned the #3 seed in Class 4A.

"Coming off of (last season) was really hard because it was like 'ohh, we won 32 games last year'," Eastview senior guard Lauren Glas told KSTP. "But this year it was different because we didn't always get the result we wanted."

"I think it's all about learning to just trust the process," Eastview senior guard Macy Guebert said. "It's not going to be easy all the time. Even last year, it might have looked easy, but it was never easy and we had our ups and downs."

Eastview plays Forest Lake in the state quarterfinals Wednesday (4:00 PM) at Williams Arena.
