Eastview Edges Hopkins for 4A Girls Basketball Championship

The Eastview girls basketball team capped off an undefeated season with its second state championship in the last four years. Eastview beat Hopkins at Target Center, 68-63.

Hopkins led 33-30 at halftime behind 23 points from star sophomore Paige Bueckers. She finished with 37 points. But Eastview came on strong in the second half, led by Megan Walstad's 20 points. Eastview made 22 of its 26 free throws, including the final 10 when Hopkins was forced to foul.

This is the fourth straight year that Hopkins was in the championship game. They won in 2015, and now have finished runner-up the last three years.
