East Ridge boys hoops dominates Cretin-Derham Hall, wins Section 4AAAA

The East Ridge Raptors boys basketball team defeated defending Class 4A champions Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders 71-45 Thursday evening at Hastings High School to win Section 4AAAA and advance to the State Tournament.

The Raptors controlled the game from the jump, playing stellar defense on the Raiders to hold them to just 16 first half points. Raptors sophomore guard Kendall Brown punctuated the first half defense with a steal and a dunk, en route to the Raptors 22-16 lead at halftime. Kendall finished with 18 points on the evening. 

The second half was no different for East Ridge, outscoring the Raiders 49-29. Senior forward Courtney Brown added eight points and a huge dunk. But, it was junior forward Ben Carlson who led the scoring for the Raptors with 26.
