The Coon Rapids/Andover little league team was no-hit Sunday by the South Riding, Virginia team. Minnesota lost 11-0, but are still alive in the double-elimination format Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

In the first inning, the Southeast team got its offense started when Liam Thyen doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs. The big hit keyed a five-run rally in the second inning. That offensive surge was followed by three more runs in the third to secure their victory after four innings via the 10-run rule. They had a total of nine hits throughout the game.

Justin Lee was dominant on the mound, pitching all four innings. He struck out six and walked two, allowing no hits. The Virginia defense behind him was solid, allowing no errors.

Drew Law started on the mound for Minnesota, before Dylan Bloom, Maddy Freking and Jack Brandl all came in to finish the game. Together, the four pitchers combined for three strikeouts and four walks.

Coon Rapids/Andover will continue their run in the tournament in an elimination game on Monday, August 19 at 7 p.m. (central) in Lamade Stadium against the Southwest Regional winners.
