Blaine Football Makes Big Strides with New Head Coach Ben Geisler

September 27, 2018 04:24 PM

It's certainly a happy homecoming for Blaine head football coach Ben Geisler. After playing for the Bengals and graduating from the school back in 1995, he's back where it all began. Geisler never felt that he was qualified for the Blaine head coaching job, but was coaxed by his wife to apply for it.

Before Geisler took the job at Blaine, he was the head coach for Irondale High School for nine years and was recently an assistant coach at Spring Lake Park.

After being named the head coach and putting his staff together in mere weeks, all his team has done this season is win. Currently the Bengals are 4-0 and will face Champlin Park on Friday night. Geisler gives a lot of credit to his assistant coaches and talented players.

"They do the work and I just try to stay out of the way. I'm very blessed to have the people around me that I do," Geisler said.
