Barnesville Beats Minneapolis North to Reach Prep Bowl

Barnesville raced into the Class AA championship game following a 34-20 over Minneapolis North in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 16 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Senior running back Chase Brenner rushed for two first-half touchdowns when the Trojans (11-2) built a 28-8 lead.


Barnesville rushed for 366 yards and passed for zero en route to a third berth in the Prep Bowl. In its first state tournament appearance in 1978, Barnesville was the Class B runner-up. In 2010, the Trojans were the Class A runner-up.

Sophomore quarterback Zach Yeager completed 20 of 34 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns for Minneapolis North (11-1). His primary target was senior Nasir El-Amin, who had 10 receptions for 139 yards and both touchdowns.
