Thielen family gives turkeys away at Salvation Army ahead of Thanksgiving

Updated: November 19, 2019 06:27 PM

Vikings WR Adam Thielen, his wife Caitlin, and son Asher were in the holiday spirit, giving away turkeys at the Salvation Army in Maplewood on Tuesday afternoon.

"I can't think of a better way to make sure families have a great Thanksgiving than to give turkeys to them so they can have a great holiday. This is such an important time of year and Caitlin and I want to teach our son Asher how important it is to be involved in the community. We really enjoy meeting people and sharing our time with them," said Adam Thielen.

This is the first year that the Thielen Foundation and Jennie-O Turkey have teamed up for a turkey giveaway. Over 1,000 turkeys will be distributed around the state of Minnesota creating 10,000 free meals to families who need them.

"This is something I enjoy doing because with the holidays upon us we wanted to make sure that the families that could use a helping hand got one," Thielen added.
