There are many great restaurants here in our state that people have dined at for years.

One restaurant in Dodge County started even before Minnesota was a state, and it's still open today.

The Hubbell House in Mantorville opened in 1854.

"Hubbell House is all about history, it's about tradition," owner Don Pappas said. "I don't know for a fact it's the oldest operating restaurant in Minnesota, but I'm pretty sure it's very close."

Over the years, the steak house has attracted several celebrities, including President Ulysses S. Grant and Jesse James.

Even through a pandemic, the restaurant's long past will live on into the future.

"The Hubbell House has survived the Civil War, the Depression, two World Wars," Pappas said. "We'll survive this."
