Three out of the five leading candidates for governor will take part in a forum in Mankato Thursday.
The forum will focus on issues important to greater Minnesota, including child care access, transportation, housing and job training.
The 90-minute discussion will feature DFL candidates Erin Murphy and Tim Walz and GOP candidate Jeff Johnson.
GOP candidate Tim Pawlenty declined to participate, citing a scheduling conflict. DFL candidate Lori Swanson withdrew due to what she called a family medical emergency.
The forum is free and open to the public. It begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Verizon Center in Mankato.
