Members of the Minnesota House got an update Thursday on efforts meant to improve election security in the state.
A bill sponsored by Republican Rep. Tim O'Driscoll would provide money for replacing voting equipment, implementing a post-election audit system and cyber security training.
Secretary of State Steve Simon said that while security at the polls is important, he's more worried about the state's voter registration system, which was built in 2004.
Minnesota was one of the states targeted by hackers during the 2016 election cycle.
