Dayton, DOC Commissioner Meet, Discuss Stillwater Prison Attack Aftermath

Gov. Mark Dayton and Minnesota Department of Corrections Commissioner Tom Roy met Wednesday to discuss the aftermath of an attack at a state prison.

KSTP Reporter Ryan Raiche said the two met mainly to discuss how officers and staff are faring following the death of corrections officer Joseph Gomm.


Gomm died last week while after an inmate attack at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater. His funeral is set for Thursday.

Raiche also reported the two met to discuss security measures, what was learned following the attack, and what changes could be made.

Raiche said Roy plans to speak to the media on Friday.
