Walz ready for inauguration day

January 04, 2019 07:44 PM

Governor-elect Tim Walz says he's as ready as he's going to be to become Minnesota's 41st governor on Monday. However, he admits it's difficult for anyone to be completely prepared for such an unpredictable job.

"I went back and read the last 50 or 60 years of inaugural addresses by governors and everyone states that they're not (ready)," Walz told 5 Eyewitness News in an interview. "The importance of an inaugural is publicly accepting the responsibility for the job. It's humbling. It's an honor. But accepting that responsibility, now it's no longer just talking about issues or proposals, it's your job to get it done."
