Governor Tim Walz Undergoes Minor Knee Surgery

Governor Tim Walz underwent a minor knee surgery this week. While he was under anesthesia, his power as governor was transferred to Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. It's a rare move that has not been done for quite some time. Former Governor Mark Dayton did not transfer power when he was at Mayo Clinic for several weeks last fall. The last time it happened, was in 1993 when Joanell Drystad took over for Arne Carlson while he had knee surgery.
