Frey Leads in Minneapolis Mayoral Race, Historic Win in Ward 8

While results for many of the Minneapolis City Council races are in, residents wait for the result in the mayoral race.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jacob Frey led the Minneapolis mayoral race with 25 percent of first-choice votes. Tom Hoch followed with 19 percent, Betsy Hodges with 18 percent, Raymond Dehn with 17 percent and Nekima Levy-Pounds with 15 percent.


Over 95 percent of Minneapolis precincts had reported by 10 p.m.

In Minneapolis City Council Ward 8, Andrea Jenkins won the seat with 73 percent of the votes, making her the first transgender woman to win a city council seat in a major U.S. city.
