The state expects to see a larger-than-usual number of mailed-in ballots for the primary election and will update results as mailed-in ballots are counted.

In accordance with a court order, counties will accept absentee ballots that have been postmarked by election day up to the day before the county’s canvassing date. Several Minnesota counties, including Clearwater, Cottonwood, Lake of the Woods, Pine and Wilkin have told the Secretary of State’s office they will not upload results on election night. All results will continue to update until races are called.
