Jamal Osman declared unofficial winner of Minneapolis City Council special election

Jamal Osman has been declared the unofficial winner of the Minneapolis City Council Ward 6 special election.

Osman won with 36.8% of votes in the final round of Minneapolis’ rank choice voting.

Osman was one of 12 candidates running to replace Abdi Warsame.

The vote will become official once it is certified by the City Council. Results are set to be certified Thursday.
