KSTP/SurveyUSA Poll Results in 1st Congressional District

With two weeks to go until Election Day, Democrat Dan Feehan has a razor-thin lead over Republican Jim Hagedorn in Minnesota's 1st Congressional District. According to our KSTP/SurveyUSA poll, Feehan leads Hagedorn 47 percent to 45 percent. The two-point margin is well within the poll's margin of error of +-4.4 percent.

Minnesota's 1st Congressional District covers southern Minnesota and includes the communities of Rochester, Albert Lea, Owatonna, Mankato, Winona and Worthington. The district's current representative, Tim Walz, is running for Minnesota governor and, therefore, not seeking re-election.

Secretary of State Candidates Meet for At Issue Debate

Minnesota's Secretary of State wears a lot of hats. The person who holds that office is in charge of everything from overseeing elections to working with people who want to own a business in Minnesota. In recent years, cybersecurity and hacking have become major issues linked to elections in Minnesota. And in 2020, Minnesota will forego the traditional caucus process for a presidential primary.

All of these issues are at the forefront of this year's secretary of state's race. DFL incumbent Steve Simon and GOP challenger John Howe joined Tom Hauser in studio for a debate on the major issues in their race this year.
