A first-of-its-kind adventure is being unveiled ahead of Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium on Feb. 4.

Beginning on Jan. 26 and running through the day of the big game, some will get the chance to zipline 100 feet above the Mississippi River on what Super Bowl organizers are calling the Bold Zipline North.

As part of the 10-day festival leading up to the game, 10,000 people will go high above the river in Minneapolis as they zip across.

But anyone wanting to be the first to take part might have to wait in line. Jacob Frey, the city's mayor-elect, said he is ready to kick things off.

"I am absolutely pumped to be able to be the very first person to take this zipline across the Mississippi," Frey said.

"We're going to do this in style. And here in Minnesota we don't just tolerate winter, we embrace it!"

Those traveling on Bold Zipline North will reach speeds of 20 to 30 miles per hour.

The experience is being sponsored by XOOX, a lifestyle backpack brand founded by former Minnesota Vikings player Robert Griffith.

"I'm just excited to be a part of Minnesota," Griffith said. "As a player, we've always wanted to play a Super Bowl here."

Something similar was part of the build-up to Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. But this will mark the first time people will be ziplining over a frozen river.

Those interested do need to register ahead of time.
