There, they found a gunshot victim, who was later transported to a local hospital and remained in stable condition.

The victim and the suspect knew each other, police said, and the incident was not random. Police announced shortly before 9 p.m. Monday they had a suspect in custody.

Authorities said witnesses reported they believed they saw two vehicles leave the area at high speeds following the shooting. One vehicle was a gray or silver sedan, and the other a dark SUV, according to Woodbury police, who added that four to six people were involved.

It was not immediately clear whether authorities sought more suspects.

There is no threat to the public in the area of Lake Ridge Drive, authorities said, and Woodbury police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continue to investigate.
