Police say a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting in Red Wing has been arrested after the Washington County SWAT team was called to a Woodbury motel Wednesday afternoon.

A release said the Woodbury Police Department was alerted that a suspect in the shooting, which occurred Tuesday, was possibly staying at the Key Inn, located on the 1800 block of Wooddale Drive. Investigation confirmed that to be the case.

Since the suspect was considered violent, the release said the SWAT team was used to safely evacuate adjacent rooms and arrest the individual. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The suspect, later identified as Michael Reyes, 19, of Red Wing, has been transported to the Goodhue County Jail, the release said.

Authorities said Reyes is a suspect in a shooting Tuesday night that injured a Florida man. The condition of that man is unknown at this time.
