Authorities have identified the woman who was killed in a shooting in Brooklyn Park on Aug. 22. 

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as 42-year-old Verneice Abrams. 


According to police, officers who were in the area of 5800 Brookdale Drive were flagged down by a group of people. 

Officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived, however, Abrams died at the hospital. 

According to court records, James Alvin Hill was charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection to the incident.
