Woman injured in shooting near Target Field

A woman was injured in a shooting near Target Field early Saturday morning.

According to Minneapolis police, officers in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North heard the sound of gunfire at around 1:42 a.m. Officers responded to the sound and located an adult woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.


The woman was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance. 

Preliminary information indicates that there was a verbal argument that escalated into a shooting.

No suspects are in custody, this event is under investigation.
