Woman charged in connection to string of armed robberies, shooting of local musician pleads not guilty

A Hibbing woman has pleaded not guilty in connection to a string of armed robberies in Minneapolis, including one in which a popular local musician was shot.

According to court records, Natalie Nicole Box pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree assault and two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery.

Jonell Butler was also charged in connection to the incident. 

The charges are in connection to a string of robberies that occurred on Sept. 8, Oct. 5 and Oct. 6.

In the Oct. 5 robbery, local musician Aaron "Hix" Lee and Katie Szczepaniak were robbed and Lee was shot in the stomach around 10:30 p.m. 

The incident happened at 13th Avenue Northeast and Fourth Street Northeast in the arts and entertainment district.
