Winter weather advisory in effect for part of Twin Cities

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for a large section of the Twin Cities.

The advisory is in effect for the following counties until 6 a.m. on Sunday: Kanabec-Isanti-Chisago-Hennepin-Anoka-Ramsey-Washington-Polk-Barron-Rusk-St. Croix-Pierce-Dunn-Pepin-Chippewa-Eau Claire.

Snow accumulations of 2-4 inches are predicted over that time period with a burst of snow this afternoon followed by another round of snow this evening and tonight. Slippery road conditions are possible with visiblity that could be reduced to a half mile in some places due to blowing snow.
