Tuesday, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz met with President Joe Biden and the governors of other states to discuss vaccination efforts.

"The governors with us today and their counterparts have been instrumental in making progress more quickly than anyone thought," Biden said.

During the call, Biden applauded several of the nation’s governors for helping achieve key U.S. vaccination milestones.

Walz told the president the state will soon reach the goal of having 70% of its population vaccinated.

The governor also pointed out that he has tried to make getting vaccinations a bipartisan effort.

"When I got my vaccine, I was glad I took my friend along, a former predecessor of mine, former Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty," Walz said.
