VIDEO: Bear visits Elk River backyard

An Elk River resident likely didn't expect a bear as a dinner guest this weekend.

According to the Elk River Police Department, the Windsor Park resident's home security camera captured video of the bear wandering through the yard.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, bears often wander into residential areas when they are looking for food. Specifically, pet food, gardens, fruit trees and bird feeders attract bears, the DNR stated.

"Keep in mind, once a bear finds food around your home they're likely to return," the Elk River police post reads.
