St. Paul police have identified the victim of the city's first homicide of 2020.

Police were called to the 900 block of University Avenue West, just outside Johnny Baby's bar, at about 2 a.m. Wednesday.


Early morning shooting leaves 1 dead in St. Paul

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a vehicle. Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim Thursday as 31-year-old Carl Anthony Dobbs Jr., of Canton.

The investigation remains ongoing.

No arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon.
