Vehicle crashes into McDonald's in Inver Grove Heights, damages building

An Inver Grove Heights McDonald's suffered structural damage Tuesday after a vehicle crashed into the building, according to police. 

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the McDonald's near Cahill Avenue. 


Police believe mechanical failure was involved in the crash. The passenger of the vehicle was treated and released at the scene. 

The building suffered major damage; however, no one inside the store was hurt.

The restaurant is expected to be closed until the building inspector clears it.
