Vandals hit New Ulm soccer field for 3rd time this year

For the third time this year, vandals have hit a Minnesota soccer field, tearing up the turf with a car.

The crimes have all happened at the soccer field at Mueller Park in New Ulm.

The latest incident took place last week with vandals leaving tire marks all across the field.

The nonprofit New Ulm United Soccer Club has started collecting donations to cover the cost of the damage, which will be between $4,000 and $8,000.

"It was a gut punch," New Ulm United Soccer Club President Mike Shaneman said. "This isn't right. Nothing about this is right, because it's taking away a field that kids play on everyday."

New Ulm Police don't have any suspects in the crimes.
