US Bank Stadium blocks sun with curtains for Final Four

Massive curtains were being installed at U.S. Bank Stadium Tuesday as the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament is one month away.

Crews were busy making adjustments to the roof and installing curtains to help darken the space for the tournament. The curtains are similar to traditional theater drapes.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority says a lot of local workers are being used for this installation and the system was designed using sailing technology. The darkening solution will cost a total of $4.6 million and the officials said the investment will last the life of the stadium.

  • March 16: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
