The individual who was found lying in the corner of a Target parking lot Friday has been identified as a teenager who was shot in the head. 

According to the Savage Police Department, a preliminary investigation revealed that the 16-year-old boy was shot in the head and is in critical condition. 


Savage Police said officers were called at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday at 14000 block of State Highway 13 about someone lying in the northwest corner of the parking lot. When officers arrived, they found the 16-year-old bleeding from the head and was semi-conscious and breathing.

The teen was given first aid and then transported by ambulance to the Hennepin County Medical Center. 

The incident remains under investigation with assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
