Tommy joined 5 Eyewitness News in January 2018. Previously he worked as the Sports Editor at the MSU-Reporter. Prior to joining KSTP, his work experience includes contributing to the Mankato Free Press as a freelance sports writer, media intern with the Mankato Moondogs, a writer for a Chicago Bulls' fansite 'Bulls Nation', and sports writer for Mars Reel Media. He also made some appearances on the school's sports podcast 'The Maverick Roundup.'

Tommy graduated from Minnesota State University—Mankato in 2017 with a Mass Media and Journalism degree, along with a minor in Sociology. 

Tommy attended many professional sporting events while with the MSU-Reporter, as he covered Minnesota Vikings Training camp for three years, Minnesota Timberwolves Dunks After Dark event, a Vikings playoff game in 2016, a Minnesota Twins game honoring Jackie Robinson Day in 2017, and many Minnesota State and southern Minnesota high school athletics. 

In his spare time, Tommy loves spending time with his wife and friends, when COVID-19 doesn't exist. He is an avid baseball fan and enjoys summertime in the Twin Cities. Tommy's passions include human rights, music and community stories.
