Teenager suffers life-threatening injuries after being shot in the face in St. Paul

A teenager has life-threatening injuries after being shot in the face in St. Paul Tuesday night.

According to the St. Paul police, a shooting occurred just before 6 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Park Street and Wheelock Parkway W.

Preliminary information shows that a teenage boy was shot in the face. He was taken to Regions hospital with life-threatening injuries but is currently in stable condition, said police.

The friends of the victim told police they had made arrangements to make a purchase from the suspect. When they met the suspect on Park Street, he got in the car, pulled out a gun and attempted to rob the three teens.

While the teens tried to disarm the suspect, one was punched in the face and the other teen was shot.

After the gunshot, the suspect fled on foot. As of Wednesday morning, the suspect has not been located.
