Police were originally getting numerous calls regarding a "manic" driver when a K-9 unit attempted to stop the vehicle. After the vehicle did not stop, a chase commenced.

There were at least two males with masks inside the vehicle. Police say it's possible there was a third suspect as well. One of the suspects fled and broke into a basement window of a house. Another suspect was taken into custody with the help of a K-9 unit.

Minneapolis police identified the two that were taken into custody as juvenile boys aged 16 to 17.

The vehicle and suspects are also being investigated related to an incident earlier in the day of an attempted robbery on a father and his 11-year-old child where shots were fired according to police.

This is a developing story, check back with KSTP for the latest updates.
