Surveillance video shows pilot arrested for intoxication at MSP

Surveillance video newly released shows a pilot who authorities say was drinking before his flight at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Gabriel Schroeder, 37, could face up to one year in jail. He has been accused of drinking before a flight, making it all the way to the cockpit before being removed by police.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has been following this news for about a month but this is the first time video of what happened has been released.

Pilots face strict blood-alcohol level limits, with .04 being considered the legal limit.

Court documents stated Schroeder's breathalyzer test was at a .065.

There were already a few passengers on board Schroeder's scheduled flight. Schroeder was removed 20 minutes before takeoff, arrested and charged.

He will make his first appearance in court on Nov. 27.
