Businesses in St. Louis Park are teaming up with a local nonprofit for what could become a life-changing mission.
They're creating safe places for youth who may be homeless, hungry or in simply in need of some advice.
Keeping Every Youth Safe, or KEYS, is working with familiar businesses, like State Farm Insurance in St. Louis Park, to provide a safe zone for anyone who comes through the door.
"These kids need help and being able to give them a box of nutritious food and be able to send them home with some really good advice and counsel is again, it's just quite a blessing," said State Farm agent Denise Aasen.
The hungry relief nonprofit MATTER is also involved in the growing effort. MATTER provides businesses with healthy boxes of food. They also provide note of encouragement for those people reaching out for help.
"It's a handwritten note that someone wrote to provide to the person that's receiving this MATTER snack pack for instance to encourage them in their situation," said MATTER's Brian Numainville.
