The 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Summer Harvest for Kids campaign succeeded in every way Thursday.

KSTP was live at the Mall of America throughout the day, where volunteers received calls and donations all day Thursday, to help ensure no child goes hungry this summer.

As of 10:30 p.m., $282,500 had been raised. The original goal was set for $100,000. That is over 565,000 kids that will be served a lunch this summer.

The donation link will remain open through June 22, as donations are still being made.

Those who want to help can find campaign and donation information here.

KSTP Reporter Callan Gray, who was at the Mall of America Thursday, said two women dropped off a $500 check at a point in the drive when donations would be matched.
