Minnesota Clothing Company Beats Cold, Goes National

Midwest cold temps are a boon to a small Minnesota company from Eagan. WSI Sports makes base layer clothing for sports like football and skiing.

The company outfitted players on the San Francisco 49er's in the recent sub-zero game outside in Green Bay.

Company founder Joel Wiens says the U.S. Ski Jumping team will be wearing his product in the upcoming Winter Olympics. Wiens says being from Minnesota helped create a better product, "You know, we're right in the heart of it as far as cold weather goes."

The clothing line is called "Heatr." Wiens says a propriety mix of material and weave generates heat over specific areas of the body that help disperse that heat. Wiens says its physics and physiology, "It's a function. and understanding that body."

Wiens says the product is hand made in Minnesota from made in the U.S.A. Material. He says the company is preparing to attend a national cold weather clothing trade show in Denver.
