The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on southbound Interstate 35W in Blaine.

The incident report said the crash occurred at about 11:45 a.m. on I-35W at Lake Drive. 


The state patrol said a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on the freeway approaching Lake Drive in the left lane when it drifted across the left shoulder lane. The driver is then believed to have overcorrected and crossed both lanes to the right.

The Silverado then tried to correct back to the left, causing it to roll into the right ditch.

The driver killed in the crash has been identified as Julie Marie Medjanyk, 56 of Forest Lake.
