The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis Wednesday.

According to the State Patrol, the crash involving two vehicles happened on the interstate near 50th Street.

An incident report stated Minnesota Department of Transportation trucks were conducting debris cleanup along southbound lanes of the interstate on the right shoulder. Traffic was slowing and merging into left lanes.

According to the report, the driver of a Nissan Versa overcorrected due to slowing traffic and lost control of the vehicle. The Versa collided with a MnDOT vehicle before hitting a concrete sound wall. The 25-year-old driver died in the crash, according to the state patrol.

Two people in the other vehicle were not hurt, according to the report.

Because of the crash, southbound I-35W was temporarily reduced to two lanes, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation
