The Minnesota State Patrol said it was investigating a fatal crash on Highway 13 at Dakota County Road 11 in Burnsville Monday afternoon.

According to the crash report, a Toyota was in the right lane, northbound on Highway 13 approaching Dakota County Road 11 at about 3:30 p.m.


A box truck was ahead of the Toyota and stopped at a red light.

The report says as the box truck began slowly moving forward after the light turned green, the Toyota struck the truck from behind.

Other details are still limited at this time, but at least one person was killed in the crash, according to the State Patrol.

The area has since reopened.
