Thursday is one of the biggest nights of the year for the city of St. Paul as the 134th Winter Carnival gets underway.


The opening ceremonies were in Rice Park in downtown St. Paul with a good crowd bundled up to take in the event.

St. Paul Winter Carnival

Visiting royalty from festivals all over the country and the world came to St. Paul for the start of the Winter Carnival, which is the oldest winter festival in the U.S., dating back to 1886.
