St. Paul police are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery and shooting occurred on Grand Avenue.

The crime happened early Thursday morning between Grotto Street and St. Albans Street.

Police say the suspect pulled out a gun and stole cell phones and a wallet from two men.

The suspect then approached a man and woman.

"The suspect again pulled out the gun and said 'Give me your stuff,'" Steve Linders, a St. Paul police spokesman said. "The man in that case went back and put his hands up and the woman, she took off running. If it hadn't been scary enough, the suspect fired a round in her direction. It actually hit the sidewalk and bounced around. She fell down, but thankfully she wasn't seriously injured."

Police are still searching for that suspect. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call the St. Paul Police Department.
