St. Paul police investigate fatal shooting

Authorities are investigating a shooting early Friday morning that left one person dead.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the incident took place on the 600 block of Elfelt Street at about 4 a.m.


A 911 caller reported shots had been fired inside a home in the area, according to the department.

According to the department, police were told a male victim had been shot and taken to Regions Hospital. Police said life-saving measures were unsuccessful and the victim died from his injuries.

Authorities said homicide investigators were at the scene Friday morning.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is working to identifiy the individual.
