St. Paul neighbors set up 30-foot tree as peace symbol

Neighbors in St. Paul have set up a 30-foot illuminated fir tree on Lexington Parkway as a peace symbol.

The tree, colored all in gold, is in response to a deadly year.

St. Paul police have investigated 34 homicides in 2020, the most in a quarter-century.

The neighbors said they hope it brings hope, moving forward.

Seven houses nearby were lit up to spread the message.

Homeowners are encouraging others in the city to shine lights, too.
