A motorcyclist is dead after he hit a cement wall on Interstate 35 at around 2:00 a.m. Sunday. The incident took place near Lake Avenue in Duluth.

The State Patrol reports that the motorcyclist, identified as Ryan Scott Mathisen, 32, of Hermantown, was traveling at a high rate of speed when his bike hit the wall, which ejected him off the motorcycle.

Mathisen was not wearing a helmet, according to the State Patrol.
