St. Anne's Family Shelter Getting Major Upgrades

As the struggles for the homeless make headlines, one local place is offering hope.

St. Anne's Place in Minneapolis is getting some big upgrades.

The upgrades will make an immediate difference in the lives of the women and children who seek shelter at St. Anne's.

They include new flooring, new kitchen cabinets, new bedroom furnishings and murals.

St. Anne's is an emergency family shelter for women and children. It is the only shelter specifically for female-led families.

"It's going to be so nice," Shelby Hagelstein with St. Anne's said. "It's going to make it much more homey for our families which is a big thing. It's so trauma-informed to have it homey and cozy."

Even the materials being used are higher-end, like you would find in a real apartment or house.

At any time, St. Anne's can house 16 families.
