Shooting in Minneapolis leaves 1 dead, police investigate

A fatal shooting happened in Minneapolis Tuesday night, leaving one dead. 

A shotspotter report around 6:38 p.m. said the shooting happened in the 1300 block of Russell Avenue North. Police found a woman, believed to be in her 20's, in an alley with gunshot wounds. She was transported to North Memorial Medical Center and died a short time later, according to police.


Her identification is unknown at this time.  

There are no known suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation. 

This is the 48th homicide in the city in 2019.
