Sheriff: Man dies after mower tips, rolls into river in Sherburne County

An 89-year-old man was killed Monday after his lawn mower tipped over and landed on him in the Mississippi River. 

According to the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office, officers were called to the 20000 block of County Road 14 by a neighbor who was checking on the man.

The sheriff's office said the man was riding his lawn mower when it tipped over, rolled down an embankment and landed on him in the river. 

Authorities identified the man as Ralph Hermes. The sheriff's office said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
